Several thousand visitors and hundreds of contract agreements. The ninth edition of Warsaw Pack is behind us!
On April 23-25, 2024, Ptak Warsaw Expo has become an international contracting platform for the packaging technology and packaging sector. This is thanks to Warsaw Pack, the ninth edition of which put emphasis on networking and industry education. The interest in the previous edition of the fair resulted in the planning of the next one.
The packaging industry is one of the most dynamically changing. In 2024, it will benefit from economic recovery after temporary stagnation in the previous period. At the same time, it is influenced by many trends, especially those related to ecology. There is increasing pressure to increase the share of biodegradable, compostable and renewable materials packaging. Every year, Poland ranks among the European leaders in this sector, which is why it was so important to integrate national experts on the way to further development of the industry on the Vistula and Oder River. The ninth edition of Warsaw Pack was used for this purpose, which took place on April 23-25, 2024 at Ptak Warsaw Expo.
Expert discussion during Warsaw Pack
During the ninth edition of Warsaw Pack, visitors could take part in as many as four educational panels conducted by the most respected experts and practitioners in the industry.
In cooperation with the Polish Chamber of Packaging and Łukasiewicz – Łódź Institute of Technology, a conference “Innovations in packaging – regulations, ecology, digitalization” was organized. During it, the state and market prospects of the packaging industry in 2024 were analyzed, the latest legal regulations were discussed – plastic tax, PPWR, deposit system, and talks about safety and quality management in relation to the requirements for producers of food and cosmetics packaging. In addition, other lectures were given. Marcin Dubownik from Łukasiewicz – Łódź Institute of Technology presented a lecture “Disposable cups and packaging: between technological challenges and sustainable circular practice”, Konrad Sulak talked about sensory packaging based on biopolymers, and Waldemar Galikowski about labeling products and packaging while minimizing costs in the company.
However, this was not the end of education during the Warsaw Pack. Participants could also attend the conference “The evolution of packaging: digitalization, artificial intelligence and EU regulations as the driving force of the industry” organized by Ptak Warsaw Expo in cooperation with Creative Packaging Group. During this event, packaging law in the European Union was presented, 2D code marking was discussed, and the role of artificial intelligence in the sector was highlighted. Moreover, Krzysztof Kondziela from Turck Sp. z o. o. delivered a lecture “Digitization as a tool for increasing production efficiency and reliability”. Moreover, together with Marcin Zieliński (Promark SA.), Wojciech Siwek (Automatec Sp. z o. o.), Dr. Radosław Maruszkin (Law Firm “Maruszkin”) and Radosław Dylewski (WAY TO AI Sp. z o. o.) they took part in a thematic panel discussion moderated by Małgorzata Chomiuk.
On the same day, there was also a panel “Closed-loop packaging – what does the future hold for the industry?”, during which the current situation on the packaging and packaging waste management market was analyzed, PPRW was presented as a new reality for the packaging industry and signaled planned changes in Polish and EU law regarding markings on packaging. However, there were many more topics discussed.
On the last day of Warsaw Pack, those gathered could take part in the Exhibitor Presentations and Trends panel. Five lectures were delivered: “Flintec: products, applications and dynamic weighing” (Arkadiusz Sumowski, Tomasz Kupicha), “Marking with 2D codes – extraordinary opportunities for production, logistics and marketing” (Mariusz Parypiński), “Current changes and legal requirements for food and cosmetics packaging” (Adam Fotek), “What can go wrong?
